15 DPO Faint Line: Late Period, Light Positive
Period is late and you see a faint line at 15 DPO. Here's what's happening.
15 DPO: one day late
At 15 DPO, you're officially past your expected period. A faint line now is unusual—most positives are clear by this point—but it can happen.
Why 15 DPO might still show faint
Possible explanations: your ovulation date might be off (you may be earlier than you think), you have a longer luteal phase, or hCG is rising slower than average. All of these are possible in normal pregnancies.
The ovulation timing question
If you're not tracking ovulation with OPKs or temping, you might have ovulated later than expected. What you think is 15 DPO could actually be 12 DPO—which would explain a faint line.
What to do now
Continue testing daily and track progression. If lines darken over the next 2-3 days, you're on track. If they stay static or your period arrives, speak with your doctor about next steps.
